Gaming is prize gaming if the nature and size of the prize is not determined by the number of people playing or the amount paid for or raised by the gaming.

Normally the prizes are determined by the operator before play commences.

Any non-gambling premises that wishes to provide prize gaming.

Payment can be made through the licensing office on 01772 906910 (option 1) using a debit or credit card.

Renewing your permit

Your permit will last 10 years from the date of issue.

Gambling fees

A reminder letter will be sent out to you one month before the due date with details of how to make a payment.

Can I offer gaming machines under a prize gaming permit?

No, prize gaming permits do not permit the provision of gaming machines. For information on gaming machine permits visit gambling permits.

Could I use another licence I have to offer prize gaming?

Yes, the following premises are already authorised by the act to offer prize gaming, without needing a separate prize gaming permit:

  • adult gaming centre premises licences
  • family entertainment centre premises licences
  • bingo premises licences
  • family Entertainment Centre gaming machine permits
  • travelling fairs
