Recycle your real Christmas tree
If you have a real Christmas tree no higher than 6ft, we can recycle it for you.
Please note: If you need to get rid of an artificial Christmas tree, these can be donated to charity shops, or given away on Freegle or Freecycle.
How to recycle your real tree
Find out how to recycle your real tree as a garden waste or non garden waste subscriber.
Garden waste subscribers
If you are subscribed to our garden waste collection service and would like us to recycle your real tree, please chop it up and put it in your brown bin on your scheduled bin collection day and we will collect it free of charge.
The last garden waste collections are on Friday 13 December 2024 and will start again on Monday 13 January 2025.
Non garden waste subscribers
If you are not subscribed to our garden waste collection service, you can arrange a real tree collection by completing the following form:
How much is it?
£5 per tree.
When will the tree be collected?
You can select one of the following dates for your tree to be collected:
- Friday 3 January 2025
- Monday 6 January 2025
- Monday 13 January 2025
- Monday 10 February 2025
Please ensure your tree is placed outside your property at your normal collection point by 7am on the day of the collection.
Please note: there is a maximum of 50 collections per date.

- Christmas wrapping paper (non-foil, non-glitter)
- Christmas cards (non-glitter)
- Clean tin foil from the turkey and mince pies
