Conservation Area Appraisals

The purpose of a Conservation Area Appraisal is to define what is important about the character and appearance of a conservation area and to identify its special characteristics.
Appraisals also identify issues which are detrimental to the conservation area which helps to inform the planning process.
The average life span for an appraisal is 10 years after which they should be reviewed. The council has a rolling programme to update the appraisals when necessary.
