Central Lancashire Local Plan

A new Local Plan for the three Authorities of Preston, South Ribble and Chorley is being prepared to cover the period to 2041.

It will provide a robust strategy to attract new investment whilst continuing to protect the unique characteristics of the area, to deliver sustainable development.

Consultation

The Central Lancashire partnership have engaged on the development of the Central Lancashire Local Plan through two previous consultations: Issues and Options, and Preferred Options.

Regulation 19, publication of the draft plan, is the next formal stage of consultation, and Council Members will be asked to approve the below documents at the Full Council meeting on Thursday 30 January 2025 for consultation at Regulation 19 to commence.

The draft plan for publication presents the newly proposed Local Plan, if approved by each Full Council, this will go live on Monday, 10 February 2025.
