Secure emails

Preston City Council and some Lancaster City Council services, limited to National Non Domestic Rates (NNDR), Council Tax, Fraud and Benefits services use Egress Switch to communicate securely via email.

This enables us to protect the personal and sensitive data we send to you, and lets you respond securely.

It is free and simple to use when receiving and replying to emails from us.

Accessing a secure email from us

The first time you receive a secure email from us, you will need to visit Egress Switch and register for an Egress Switch ID in order to view the contents and attachments online.

You can do this by clicking the link in the email and then following the simple instructions.

Once you have registered, to view secure emails sent by us visit Egress Switch and sign into your Egress Switch account.

Egress provide a dedicated support team to help you open and reply to your secure emails, available at Egress - Support.

Customer Notice - If you do not receive an email to verify your account, please ensure reader.egress.com is in your allowed list of domains, as this may have filtered into your junk or spam mail.
