20 May 2024: Last week concludes the tenure of our 695th Mayor of Preston City. During the 12-month period, the outgoing Mayor, attended 527 events across the city, and welcomed 253 people from across the world, to his Parlour.

16 May 2024: The next chapter unfolds for the much-loved Tram Bridge, with some preparatory work starting on site and Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council marking this occasion with the opening of a new public exhibition about the bridge.

14 May 2024: Preston is gearing up for a significant event on Saturday, June 8 as the city prepares to honour the 80th anniversary of the historic D-Day landings.

13 May 2024: As the 50th Preston Caribbean Carnival approaches, organisers are gearing up for a spectacular celebration of Caribbean culture like never before.

9 May 2024: The Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library in Preston is currently reaching a significant phase in its ongoing restoration project. A crane operation is underway to install Air Handling Units and roof gantries onto The Harris roof from Lancaster Road.

8 May 2024: After a hiatus of several years, Preston City Council have announced the reintroduction of Friday trading at Preston's Outdoor Market.

7 May 2024: Encounter Festival, Preston's premier cultural festival, is thrilled to announce the successful awarding of funding from Arts Council England for its 2024 edition.

1 May 2024: A local artist's homage to the history and culture of Preston has been completed at the city's £45m-plus Animate leisure complex.

25 April 2024: Plans for a new sports and community facility at Preston's Ashton Park have been approved.

24 April 2024: Radio 2's flagship annual live music event, Radio 2 in the Park, will take place this year in Moor Park at Preston, on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September.
