Ideas for Integrated Public Transport System

A Government survey opens to the public
When Preston's Climate Jury met last year, they agreed what needed to change in Preston to address climate change in ways which are fair to everyone.
One of their top recommendations was more reliable and integrated public transport and so jury members welcome a new opportunity to tell central government what needs to change.
The Department of Transport has launched a call for ideas for a national integrated transport strategy and is inviting responses from the public.
The survey is open until Thursday, 30 January 2025 and full details can be accessed at GOV.UK - Government Transport Survey. The survey asks how we travel, what we think needs to change to improve our experience and whether better information and more joined up services would make a difference.
Nilli Williamson, Member of Preston's Climate Jury said:
"We encourage people to take part in the survey so that the government can understand better what it is that people need! The Jury have detailed in their recommendations a number of things that can be done to help towards our goals of climate action and improving our city for everyone."
To read the Climate Jury's recommendations in full see Climate Jury Recommendations.
Preston City Council's Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Councillor Carol Henshaw said:
"We encourage all our Preston residents to contribute their ideas on how to improve transport services. Better public transport can improve our lives in so many ways, and it is those who use public transport who will have the best ideas about how to make it better."
