Polling District - RE1
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: No change.
Goosnargh Village Hall is situated within the polling district boundary. It has disabled access, car parking and is well known to electors.
Polling District - RE2
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: No change.
Goosnargh Village Hall, although situated outside the polling district, is accessible and known to electors and has been used for a number of years. RE1 shares a polling station with RE2 as there are no other known suitable polling places within the RE2 district.
Polling District - RE3
- Area: Merge with RE4.
- Polling Station: No change.
Grimsargh Village Hall has disabled access, a large car park and is well known to electors. There is a large hall and another suitable room is available in the premises.
Polling District - RE4
- Area: Merge with RE3.
- Polling Station: No change.
District RE4 was created when the former Wyre Parliamentary Constituency boundary line divided the ward. With the newly adopted Parliamentary boundaries this is no longer a concern. As RE4 is a smaller district and already shares the same polling place at Grimsargh Village Hall, we propose that it be merged with RE3.
Polling District - RE5
- Area: Re-number to RE4.
- Polling Station: No change.
Grimsargh Village Hall is also used for RE5. There are no other suitable polling places in the district. It is still accessible for the majority of electors to reach.
Polling District - RE6
- Area: Re-number to RE5.
- Polling Station: No change.
The Concert Hall at Broughton & District Club is outside of the district but has been accessed by electors for a number of years without issue. There are no other suitable polling places in the district.
Polling District - RE7
- Area: Re-number to RE6.
- Polling Station: No change.
The Concert Hall at Broughton & District Club is situated centrally within the polling district. It has disabled access, good parking facilities and is well known to electors.
Limiting Factors:
The Preston Rural East Ward is a rural area with limited resources for suitable polling locations. Most districts share a polling station within the same polling place. This arrangement has been in place for a number of years and has been successful.
Preston Rural East Ward is Warded according to Parish boundaries.
- RE1 and RE2 is Whittingham Parish.
- RE3 and RE4 is Grimsargh Parish
- RE5 is Haighton Parish
- RE6 & RE7 is Broughton in Amounderness Parish
- The whole ward is situated in Ribble Valley Constituency.
