Information relating to the current polling districts and polling places:

Polling District - CA1

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

St Margaret's Church Hall is easily accessible for electors, has disabled access, a large car park and is well known to electors. It is also large enough to have separate polling stations within the building.

This station is shared with district IC2. We have investigated using a room at The Courtyards an independent living home on Dovedale Avenue.

The Courtyards is situated within the Polling District boundary. Having discussed this with the Manager, The Courtyards does have some residents with dementia and so because of this, it would not be suitable to use as a Polling Station for the safety of residents. We therefore propose the continued use of St Margaret's Church Hall for the electors in this area.

Polling District - CA2

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

Harris Primary School is situated centrally within the polling district. It has disabled access and is well known to electors. There is parking available. Where we always try to avoid using schools for polling stations there are no other suitable alternatives in this area.

The polling station is accessed via a side door which allows the school to remain open. A ramp for the kerb leading to the polling station is provided at each election.

Polling District - CA3

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

Harris Primary School is convenient for electors to access and is within the ward boundary. Polling district CA3 shares a polling station with CA2. Although we acknowledge that the polling station is in a different polling district this boundary is affected by conflicting County boundaries and cannot be merged with CA2 or CA4. This polling district is largely rural.

The electors currently attend the station allocated to CA2. There are no suitable alternative polling places available within this district.

Polling District - CA4

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

The Padua Room, St Anthony's Church has been used for a number of years by electors. It is situated in polling district CA5 in the Cadley Ward. This very small polling district comprises of Hollybank, Boys Lane - an over 55's/retirement complex.

The County electoral division boundary for Preston Central West runs along the railway and includes this small area of Cadley Ward. Due to this reason, a separate polling district is required.

Polling District - CA5

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

The Padua Room at St Anthony's Church has disabled access and has been used for a number of years by electors since it was built. The polling place is used for both CA4 and CA5 and has adequate space.

Polling District - CA6

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

St Cuthberts Church is situated within the polling district. It is an excellent, spacious venue, has disabled access, good car parking and is well known to electors.

Limiting Factors

• Polling district CA1 acts as the boundary for Ingol North East Ward of Ingol and Tanterton Neighbourhood Council.
• Polling District CA1, CA2 and CA5 are in Preston West Division Polling district CA3 is in Preston North Division.
• Polling districts CA4 and CA6 are in Preston Central West County electoral Division.
