Polling District - AS1

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

Ashton Community Science College is well known and easily accessible for electors.

The room used for polling has been changed to enable disabled access. In the past the room that was used had a small staircase and electors were advised to access the polling station via a separate entrance.

The new room used eliminates the need for this. There is disabled parking on request.

Each year we work with the Head Teacher and erect fencing leading from the left gate to the polling station thereby allowing unhindered pedestrian access to the polling station for electors, whilst retaining a safe environment for pupils. On-street parking is available throughout the hours of Poll and parking is available when school closes. There is disabled parking available during the hours of Poll.

Polling District - AS2

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

St Andrews Church Hall is situated centrally within the polling district. It has disabled access, a car park and is well known to electors.

Polling District - AS3

• Area: No change.
• Polling Station: No change.

The Sports Hall at Parker Street (part of Roebuck CP School) has disabled access and is well known to electors. This polling place is located outside of the ward and is in polling district PL5. There are no other suitable polling places within the polling district or the ward and the Sports Hall at Parker Street is geographically closest.

On street parking is available.

Polling district AS4 also shares a polling station with AS3.

The Sports Hall at Parker Street (part of Roebuck CP School) is used as there are no alternative polling locations within the district or ward. It is a large hall and can accommodate multiple polling stations within it.

Ashton Methodist Church is fully disability compliant, easily accessible and has parking at either side of the building including on- street parking.

The Church is well known in the community.

Polling District - AS6

Riversway Control Centre is located centrally within the polling district. Although only small, it is a suitable location with disabled access and manages the electorate well. There is extra signage and information on poll cards provided to assist voters to locate the polling place.

Limiting Factors

The polling station for AS3 is located in polling district PL5 within Plungington Ward. AS1, AS2 and AS4 are in Preston South West Division.

AS3 is in Preston Central West Division. AS5 and AS6 are in Preston City Division.
