Encounter Festival road closure (Saturday 21 September 2024)
There will be a road closure to support Encounter Festival on Saturday 21 September 2024 between 8am and 10pm on the following length of road:
Only vehicles forming part of or otherwise used in connection with the event or emergency service vehicles will be allowed to travel along the above roads at the time of the event.

Diversion route
The diversion route for the above-mentioned road closure will be via:
- Lancaster Road, Ormskirk Road, North Road, Ring Way, Stanley Street, London Road, Queen Street, Manchester Road and Church Street in that direction only.
Suspend traffic restrictions
A further effect of this Order will be to suspend traffic restrictions on Lancaster Road between its junction with Lord Street to its junction with Old Vicarage to enable vehicles to obtain egress from roads in the vicinity of the road closure between 8am to 10pm on 21 September 2024.
The above-mentioned closure is necessary to prevent obstruction of the street at a time of public celebration.
