St George's Day Parade road closure (Sunday 27 April 2025)

A road closure will take place due to 'St George's Day Parade' on Sunday 27 April 2025 between 10:30am to 12 noon.

Please note: only vehicles forming part of or otherwise used in connection with the St George's Day Parade or emergency service vehicles will be allowed to travel along the above roads during the event.
What are the diversions?
The diversion route for the closure will be via:
- Carlisle Street, Pole Street, Lord's Walk, Church Row and Church Street in that direction only
- Church Street, Grimshaw Street, Queen Street, Avenham Lane, Syke Street, Cross Street and Guildhall Street in that direction only
Suspension of orders in the ways described
To suspend the one way provision to the following road and direction of travel:
- Crooked Lane - East to West
- Lancaster Road - from its junction with Earl Street to its junction with Lord Street (North to South)
- Avenham Street - its full length (South to North)
- Glover's Court - its full length (North to South)
To suspend the prohibition of vehicular traffic provision to the following length of road:
- Lancaster Road - from a point 10 metres south of the centreline of Old Vicarage to its junction with Earl Street.
The above mentioned closures are necessary to prevent obstruction of the streets at the time of public celebration.
