Preston Partnership is going virtual until at least April 2021 in order to continue its dialogue with businesses and organisations from the public, private and third sector about the future, strengths and opportunities of the city.

Despite the current circumstances Preston continues to evolve and grow with many changes happening and scheduled for the city. Preston Partnership is keen to continue to engage with its current (and future) members to provide opportunities to share successes for the businesses in the city and proactively work in partnership towards its future.

As such, the Partnership is waiving its membership's fees for the financial year 2020/2021. During this time new members can still join and virtual meetings will take place - the first being hosted next week.

Director of Preston Partnership (CIC) and Executive Chairman of Harrison Drury Solicitors, John Chesworth said,

"The last few months have been incredibly difficult for the business community and while we want to continue engaging with the dialogue that has been taking place over the last 12 or more months, the steering group feels strongly that now is not a time to prioritise income. The Partnership charges a nominal fee to cover costs, but in the absence of physical meetings these costs are greatly reduced, making it an easy decision.

The city is continuing to move forward in exciting ways and we welcome more businesses, charitable and public sector organisations become members and engage in the ongoing dialogue.

Preston has a lot to offer and is a great place to do business. There is a lot to be achieved by working together and promoting the success of the city."

Chief Executive of Preston City Council, Adrian Phillips said,

"Working together is more important than ever and the suspension of the Preston Partnership membership fees allows all Preston businesses and organisations to join the conversation.

Despite the incredibly difficult situation we all find ourselves in, the city is continuing to push forward with its ambitious agenda, including important projects such as the Towns Fund bid, Re-Imagining the Harris and city centre developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity to better engage with other Preston businesses for the benefit of the city."
