Waste Management consultation

Consultation was carried out between September 2017 and October 2017 on proposed changes to some of the ways in which the waste collection service operates.  

What were the proposed changes?

Suggestions were put forward on the following proposals:

• missed bins
• returning for missed bins
• collections from private roads
• textile collections

The results

The consultation received 203 individual responses to the four proposed questions about the waste management service.

What happens next?

These changes have now being agreed by Cabinet on the 20 June 2018.

The consultation set out proposed changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs to meet current local government budget challenges as a result of grant reductions from central government.

The changes will now be made council policy with an agreed start date of 1 October 2018.
