Complete this form to register your details and those of keyholders / alarm maintenance companies for any premises fitted with an audible alarm. If you permit your alarm to ring unnecessarily action may be taken against you under Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. This may involve the silencing of an alarm, with all costs incurred being recharged to the householder. In order to avoid the risk of incurring costs and inconvenience you should ensure your alarm is fitted with a 20-minute cut off device to limit the maximum time it rings to 20 minutes AND complete this form to register contact details with us. This form will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
I am the person responsible for the audible alarm system installed at the premises listed in this form. I am notifying Preston City Council of the contact details of nominated keyholders who: • have agreed to act as a keyholder and give permission for their contact details to be held by the Council • will attend at the premises within 20 minutes if called upon by the Council's Environmental Health Service • will take responsibility for silencing the alarm if it is causing a statutory nuisance. I am supplying this information voluntarily and am aware that I should notify the Council if any of the provided details change by submitting a new registration form. I am aware that the Council makes no undertaking in relation to this registration other than to make reasonable efforts to contact keyholders in the event of alleged nuisance due to the sounding of the alarm. I understand that in the case of suspected crime the Council may share this information with the Police so that keyholders can be contacted.
