'Greener Homes in Lancashire' service launches today
22 January 2025
Helping to make properties cleaner, more comfortable and cheaper to run.
Greener Homes in Lancashire is a free new service that launched today, Wednesday 22 January. It advises households and landlords on how to take advantage of new technology and funding opportunities to improve their properties, making them cleaner, more comfortable, and cheaper to run.
It is being delivered by local energy experts, Green Rose Community Interest Company, a Not-For-Profit agency that has been advising Lancashire residents since 2019 on how to lower their energy bills.
Customers can book a free one-to-one conversation with a qualified Retrofit Advisor to discuss issues such as clean heating, insulation, solar panels and electric vehicle charging. The advisor can identify potential solutions, run through grants that are available, and identify trusted local installers that can provide quotes and undertake works.
The service is officially backed by all of the local authorities in Lancashire. It complements the existing Cosy Homes in Lancashire (CHiL) service, which is mainly focused on supporting low-income households.
Councillor Coupland, Cabinet member for Health and Wellbeing at Preston City Council said:
"With increases in the cost of living any initiatives to lower outgoings, allowing residents to not only heat their homes, but also lower the cost of doing so, are greatly welcomed and I would strongly encourage people to reach out to Green Rose for advice."
James Sommerville, Director at Green Rose said:
"Greener Homes in Lancashire is available to anyone that would like to improve their property to make it cheaper to run and more environmentally friendly.
With energy prices on the rise and with the Government introducing a new Warm Homes Plan it's a good time to speak with our friendly team who can help you understand the opportunities available to you".
