Reduction for disabilities
If you have adapted your home to meet the needs of a disabled person who lives there, and he or she is 'permanently and substantially' disabled, we may be able to reduce your Council Tax bill.
Are you eligible for Council Tax reduction
You may be able to get a reduction in your Council Tax if you are disabled or you have a disabled person living with you who needs to use a wheelchair indoors, or if the property has:
- an additional bathroom or kitchen especially for the disabled person
- another room (which isn't primarily a bedroom) used mainly to meet the disabled person's special needs
- sufficient floor space to permit the disabled person to use their wheelchair, if this is essential for moving around the inside of the property
How do I apply?
If you believe that you may be entitled to this reduction, please complete the following form and a member of the team will be in contact:

What happens next?
Once we have received your application, we will contact you to arrange an appointment for an officer to visit your property, who may ask to look at any relevant proof to support your application.
Please have any relevant documents ready when the officer visits.
Do not let anyone into your home unless you are sure who they are.
All council officers carry an identification card, which you should ask to see before letting anyone into your home.
