Polling District - LL1
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: No change.
St Peter & St Paul's Church is used for polling district LL1 and LL2. Although the polling place is situated in LL2, the location is central between both districts. There is no alternative polling place within LL1 as the area is predominately made up of residential housing. We provide a ramp for disabled access into the building. This is a suitable premises with a large car park.
Polling District - LL2
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: No change.
St Peter & St Paul's Church is located at the edge of the polling district but is the most suitable polling place to be found within the polling district. It has a small step to enter the building, but a temporary ramp is provided to address access issues. It has excellent parking facilities.
Polling District - LL3
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: Proposed change to St Bernards Function Hall.
Oaktree Court is relatively central within the polling district and has been in use following the closure of St Bernards Social Club. There is a large room used as the polling station. There is limited parking however there is street parking available close by. We provide additional signage for electors on the day of Poll and it is accessibility compliant. Oaktree Court has proven difficult for electors to find as it is situated in the middle of residential housing. We propose to change the polling place to St Bernards Function Hall. The Function Hall has opened to the community which used to be St Bernards Church. The function room is also on the same site as the former social club which is convenient for electors. The Function Room is fairly central within the polling district. The building is accessibility compliant. It is situated on a main road easily visible to electors and along a bus route. There is a large car park and a large open hall within with adequate space for multiple polling stations.
Polling District - LL4
- Area: No change.
- Polling Station: Proposed change to St Christopher's Church.
Lea Community Primary School is currently used as the polling place which needs to close each year for the day of Poll for safeguarding. Where we always try to avoid using schools for polling stations we propose that this polling place be changed to St Christopher's Church. The Church has an ample sized hall and is fully accessibility compliant. There is a car park available and is just a short walk away from the school.
Limiting Factors
- LL4 is part of Lea and Cottam Parish (South Ward). All polling districts are within Preston South West Division
