Torchlight Procession Encounter Festival road closure (Saturday 21 September 2024)
There will be road closures for the Torchlight Procession on Saturday 21 September 2024 on the following lengths of road.
Only vehicles forming part of or otherwise used in connection with the procession or emergency service vehicles will be allowed to travel along the above roads at the time of the public procession.
Road closures
Moor park closure
The following road closure will take place on Saturday 21 September 2024 from 12 noon until 10pm:

Diversion route
The diversion route for the above-mentioned road closure will be via Sir Tom Finney Way, Blackpool Road, Garstang Road and vice versa until 6pm. After 6pm this diversion route will not be available.

Diversion route
The diversion routes for the above mentioned road closures will be via:
- (i) Ribbleton Lane, Ribbleton Avenue, Blackpool Road, Garstang Road, North Road, Ring Way and vice versa.
- (ii) New Hall Lane, Blackpool Road, Garstang Road, North Road, Ring Way and vice versa.
Suspend various one-way traffic restrictions
A further effect of this Order will be to suspend various one-way traffic restrictions on the following roads to enable vehicles to obtain egress from roads in the vicinity of the processional route between 6pm and 10pm on Saturday 21 September 2024.
- St. Stephen's Road, Carrol Street, Church Row, Derby Street, Hammond's Row, Manchester Road, Avenham Street, Glover's Court, Crooked Lane and Old Vicarage.
The above-mentioned road closures are necessary to prevent obstruction of the streets at a time of public procession.
