Tithebarn Street, Ormskirk Road and Carlisle Street night closure (26 August to the end of September 2024)
From the 26 August to the end of September 2024, during an overnight closure from 8pm to 6am daily, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Tithebarn Street at the side of the Holiday Inn and adjacent roads (Ormskirk Road and Carlisle Street).
Where will the restrictions operate?
The restrictions will operate along Ormskirk Road and Carlisle Street to its junction with Ring Way. Tithebarn Street will be closed to a point approximately 85 metres south of Ring Way.
Carlisle Street will also have a temporary restriction over a length of 30 metres behind the Holiday Inn Hotel, and Ormskirk Road will be shut completely.
Access and alternative routes
Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible, and alternative vehicle routes will be running along Ring Way, London Road, and Victoria Road for the duration of the restrictions.
Vehicle access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained, and an alternative bus route will operate during the hours of road restrictions.
