Preston City Council's planning department has been judged to provide "an exemplary approach to identifying, unlocking and kick-starting brownfield housing sites."

The infection rate of coronavirus is dramatically increasing in Preston, with numbers reaching 59.1 (per 100,000) on Tuesday 8 September, according to figures provided by Public Health England. This figure demonstrates the highest rate of infection since the national lockdown earlier this year.

Preston City Council will have greater involvement in reaching out to residents in the city who have either tested positive for coronavirus, or been in contact with someone who has as part of the national track and trace system.
