Malaysian Food Trader set to open at Preston Markets

Lapar Malaysian Cuisine is opening at Preston Markets on Saturday 28 November 2020.

Run by Anita Tahir-Parker a chef from Johor Bahru, Malaysia, this new trader will serve delicious, fresh authentic Malaysian cuisine to take away from their new stall, opposite Adrian Livesey's Butchers at Preston Markets.

Anita has a vast knowledge of Malay cuisine, previously cooking professionally in Vietnam, Cambodia and Sweden. She will be preparing an array dishes available for take away which have strong Southeast Asia flavours including a Rendang (Malaysian dry curry), chicken wings and spring rolls.

Anita Tahir-Parker, owner of Lapar Malaysian Cuisine said:

"I am so excited to be able to bring my business to Preston Markets and looking forward to opening on Saturday 28 November. I specialise in delicious Malay food to take away and focus on providing the best quality, fresh authentic Malaysian food.

I look forward to welcoming the people of Preston to my new stall and any purchase made on the 28 and 30 November over £5 will get a free portion of mini vegetable spring rolls to say thank you for shopping local and supporting me in my new location."

Councillor Robert Boswell, Cabinet Member for Environment at Preston City Council, said:

"I am delighted to welcome yet another new trader to Preston Markets. Lapar Malaysian Cuisine brings a brand new type of food to the Market Hall, increasing the already great array of businesses on offer at the Markets.

• Lapar Malaysian Cuisine will open at Preston Markets on Saturday 28 November 10am - 4pm. The will then be open Monday - Saturday 10am - 4pm until further notice.
• Lapar Malaysian Cuisine has relocated from Walker Street, Preston to Preston Markets.
• Due to the current Government Guidelines Lapar Malaysian Cuisine will be operating take away only.
