Financial Inclusion
We are committed to supporting people and communities experiencing significant social and economic deprivation.
We have a variety of roles in tackling financial exclusion and promoting initiatives that not only provide direct support to people, but build capacity within Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors (VCFS) and develop financial resilience within communities.
What are we doing?
We set up a Financial Inclusion Practitioners Group with partners from local authority advice services, social housing sector, homeless services, faith organisation and the voluntary sector.
Together this group has undertaken research into financial inclusion, mapped financial advice and support services in Preston and has established a Financial Inclusion Action Plan.
In 2019 we launched the Help in Preston website to bring information about Preston services into one place so that people get the help they need at the time they need it.
CLEVR Money is a collaboration between Preston City Council and Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Credit Union who are expanding their services to everyone who lives and works in Preston.
