There are a wide variety of events that take place on our parks throughout the year.

Avenham and Miller Park

Grade II listed Avenham and Miller Park is located in the middle of the city centre and offers a number of activities and events across the year.

Annual events

The main annual event to take place on Avenham and Miller Park is Egg Rolling.

The Egg Rolling event is a tradition dating back to 1867 and takes place every year on Bank Holiday Monday.

Other events

Avenham and Miller Park also offer a number of other events over the course of the year, particularly around school holidays. Event types range from outdoor theatres and vintage fairs, through to organised walks and running events.

Moor Park

Grade II listed Moor Park is the oldest and largest park in Preston located just outside the city centre.

Annual events

The main annual event to take place on Moor Park is the Caribbean Carnival. The Caribbean Carnival event takes place every year over the summer period. It begins with a Carnival procession, then ends in Moor Park for food and family entertainment.

Other events

Moor Park also offer a number of other events across the year, particularly around school holidays. Events range from open air cinemas to night time walks.

Other parks

There are also a number of other parks just outside the city centre which other a number of events throughout the year. Examples include Ashton Park with the annual Ruffs Dog Show and Haslam Park with walking events and children's trail in the school holidays.
