Notice to Mariners - Preston Docks - lock gate and swing bridge repairs update

Further to the Notice to Mariners issued on the 9 January 2025, work to the No.3 lock gate is complete for now, with more work proposed later this year (around October).

The work to the swing bridge has been completed today, well in advance of schedule, and access to and from the main dock basin is once again possible.

Locking of vessels between Preston Dock and the River Ribble (either direction) and through the lock (either direction) is now possible with a minimum of 24 hours notice given to Preston Marina's office for a High Water (Liverpool) that falls between 0700 and 2000 hrs (BST).
