Event review process

Document

Following the investment in Moor Park to provide the city with a venue capable of hosting large scale outdoor events, a number of different events of various types and genres have been held on the site. Some events have received numerous complaints from residents within the surrounding area of the park relating to the noise levels produced by these large scale events. The Council is committed to ensuring that feedback from residents is reflected upon within the event planning process.

For this reason the Council has imposed a review process to ensure that events which receive over 10 unique complaints per day of operated are placed into review. This review process will be led by the Events and Cultural Services Team and involve relevant officers from throughout the Council depending on the nature of event and complaints received. This review process will cover the following areas:

  • Compliance with the Council's terms and conditions and recognised events industry standards.
  • Other significant additional measures that could be implemented to reduce/mitigate issues?
  • Recommended conditions to be imposed on any future iterations of the event.

Should an event be found to be compliant with all terms and conditions set by the Council and there are no other significant additional control measures which could be implemented, the decision over the continuation of the event will be referred to the Executive Member for Culture and Leisure. This decision will stand as long as the organisers do not drastically change the event and management practices.
